Here in Bangkok the last three months of the year is a popular time period for weddings. This week a local radio station (FM 105.5) conducted a "Battle of the Brides" with the winner getting 600,000 baht (@ $20,000.00) worth of bridal goodies. Read the print to see what the brides had to do besides running 300 meters.
It's been several years since we have eaten at The Banyan Tree hotel which is located on Bangkok's Sathorn road. Here is how the buffet offerings are displayed.
Arch Bishop Weddell Chompkoff of Lahore, Pakistan writes: "I am sick and tired of turning dried tasteless crackers into The Holy Eucharist. Let me see some close-ups of the food offerings at the Banyan Tree buffet."
You got it, padre!
The entrance-way to our Bangkok condo has a new addition. Can you locate it? What is it, you say. Last week one of us (guess who) went to a fortune teller and on the fortune teller's advice purchased a colorful disk that when hung above the door will keep evil spirits away.
Finally, the answer.
Any guesses as to the age of this Fiat? Hmmm ... '50s or '60s. Anyway, it has been parked in the visitor section of our condo's garage for the past fortnight.
Why is the left side of the car so close to the wall? How does the driver get in the car?
